Time: 09:00 AM
– 11:30 AM
Location: In Person & Zoom

Location: In Person – B3Fit Wellness Center, 25 Circle Street, Rochester, NY 14607

Accessible, applied anatomy targeting athlete’s bodies but very relevant and applicable to all. Critical, foundational information to understand when working with athletes or anyone. The incredible shoulder girdle is the most mobile joint in the body and extremely vulnerable to chronic – even serious – injury. But that doesn’t have to be the case, even for active, intense athlete imbalances and force production.

Learn essential, functional shoulder anatomy; how to apply knowledge to activating the rotator cuff muscles; learn key support structures around the shoulder; understand the relationship of the main joint bones (scapula, humerus, clavicle); and gain perspective on how the shoulder “drapes” over the rib cage and why spinal alignment and vertebral health are also critical in the big picture for optimal posture, breathing, and performance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This content is informed by Leslee’s personal experience with a shattered collarbone and nerve issue (brachial plexus) requiring two surgeries – a debilitating injury during her training on the US National / Olympic Development Cycling Team that ultimately ended her professional cycling career. The sad end of that career sparked her interest in anatomy and set the foundation for her “Anatomy in Action” signature programming today. Years after the injury, the MRI of Leslee’s shoulder was dire, but with careful, prescriptive self-study and using an applied anatomy approach in both strengthening and mobility, Leslee has a relatively pain-free (carefully explored) range of motion that surprises top orthopedic shoulder doctors and movement specialists.
